Jakarta — Pertamina cut the price of Dexlite by IDR 3,300 to IDR 19,700 per litre from Wednesday, 1 July 2026, down from IDR 23,000 per litre in Jakarta and surrounding areas. Pertamina Dex fell IDR 3,650 to IDR 21,150 per litre, while the subsidised Biosolar stayed at IDR 6,800 per litre. The adjustment took effect on the same day the B50 biodiesel mandate was scheduled to begin.

The new prices applied from 00:00 WIB and were published on the official MyPertamina website, as reported by Infobanknews and by iNews.id, republished on RCTI+. Neither outlet carried an official Pertamina statement explaining the cuts.

Prices vary by region, partly because of differences in the regional motor vehicle fuel tax (PBBKB) set by local governments. Infobanknews listed separate prices for more than a dozen regional groups, from Riau, Aceh and West Sumatra to Kalimantan, Sulawesi, Maluku and Papua, as well as the Batam and Sabang free trade zones.

According to a GoodStats summary, the new Dexlite prices by region are:

  • Java, Bali and Nusa Tenggara: IDR 19,700 per litre.
  • Sumatra, Kalimantan, Sulawesi and Maluku–Papua: IDR 20,150 per litre.
  • Riau and Riau Islands: IDR 20,550 per litre.

Pertamina Dex is now IDR 21,150 per litre in Java–Bali, IDR 21,650 outside Java and IDR 22,100 in the Riau area.

Dexlite–Biosolar gap narrows

The biggest cuts came in non-subsidised diesel. At the new prices, the gap between Dexlite and Biosolar narrows from IDR 16,200 to IDR 12,900 per litre, while the gap between Pertamina Dex and Biosolar shrinks from IDR 18,000 to IDR 14,350 per litre. Biosolar's price is set by the government and did not change.

The adjustment followed a softer crude oil market in mid-June. IDX Channel reported on 19 June 2026 that crude prices fell as tankers began moving through the Strait of Hormuz again after it reopened following a US–Iran peace deal, improving the supply outlook. GoodStats also noted that the rupiah had weakened to around IDR 18,032 per US dollar, a factor that affects energy commodity prices. Pertamina, however, did not explain what drove the 1 July cuts.

Coinciding with the start of B50

1 July 2026 was also the scheduled launch of the B50 programme, which blends 50% palm-based biodiesel with 50% conventional diesel, according to a Reuters report carried by Hydrocarbon Processing on 29 June 2026. Energy and Mineral Resources Minister Bahlil Lahadalia had earlier said the B50 fuel trial showed positive results, as quoted by IDX Channel.

For the palm oil market, weaker fossil fuel prices are a concern in their own right: IDX Channel noted that lower crude prices make palm oil less attractive as a biodiesel feedstock. The latest fuel and biodiesel prices are tracked on our prices page.
