Nusa Dua, Bali — The 6th Palm Biodiesel Conference 2026 was held on 17–18 September 2026 at the Sofitel Nusa Dua, Bali. The conference was hosted by the Indonesian Biofuel Producers Association (APROBI) together with two co-organisers, the Malaysian Biodiesel Association (MBA) and the Thai Biodiesel Producer Association (TBPA).

Theme and organisers

The conference was held under the theme "The Role of Palm Biodiesel for Global Energy Security". The involvement of biodiesel associations from Indonesia, Malaysia and Thailand reflects the shared interest of the three palm oil-producing countries in developing biodiesel. According to the organisers' plans, 200–300 delegates were expected to attend.

Topics

Based on information from APROBI, the conference programme covered:

  • challenges and opportunities for the global biodiesel industry;
  • current and future biodiesel policies in palm oil-producing countries;
  • expectations, challenges and future demand from end users;
  • biodiesel as a sustainable energy solution;
  • innovative technologies and chemical products for biodiesel production.

Event format

The programme was designed in several formats: keynote speeches, panel discussions, talk shows, technical presentations and an exhibition. This article summarises the organisers' announcement; discussion outcomes, speaker statements and actual attendance figures are not reported here. Readers who need materials or results from the event are advised to contact APROBI.

Policy context

The conference took place after Indonesia began its B50 mandate on 1 July 2026, which then applied across all fuel stations from 1 October 2026. The government is also studying B60 for 2027. The latest developments are in the news report B50 Now at All Fuel Stations; Indonesia Studies B60. Other industry events are on the Events page.

For industry players, cross-border forums among palm oil-producing countries like this matter because one country's biodiesel policy can affect feedstock supply and demand in another.
