Frequently asked questions
What is the palm FFB price today?
Latest official farmgate FFB prices: Riau (independent smallholders) (10–20-year palms) IDR 3,694.68/kg (7 Oct–13 Oct 2026); Riau (10–20-year palms) IDR 3,776.39/kg (7 Oct–13 Oct 2026); Jambi (10–20-year palms) IDR 3,758.31/kg (2 Oct–8 Oct 2026); Sumatera Barat (10–20-year palms) IDR 3,966.94/kg (1 Oct–7 Oct 2026); Sumatera Utara (10–20-year palms) IDR 3,801.58/kg (30 Sep–6 Oct 2026); Aceh — South-West IDR 3,713/kg (23 Sep–6 Oct 2026).
Who sets FFB prices?
Each province sets the FFB purchase price for partner (plasma) smallholders through a pricing team led by the provincial plantation office (Disbun), under Agriculture Minister Regulation 01/2018. Prices are set weekly, fortnightly or monthly depending on the province, and by palm age group.
Why do FFB prices differ between provinces?
The formula uses each province's CPO and kernel prices, oil extraction rate (rendemen) and an index (indeks K), so local mill yields, transport costs and the pricing period all affect the result. Independent (swadaya) farmers often receive less than the official price.
How does B50 affect FFB prices?
B50 raises domestic demand for CPO for biodiesel, which supports CPO and therefore FFB prices; farmer groups have also warned that the export levy used to fund the programme can depress farmgate prices. See our B50 guide.
