Indonesia's June 2026 Palm Oil Exports Jump 64% While Average CPO Export Price Falls 4.32%

Jakarta — Indonesia's palm oil product exports surged in June 2026, even as the average CPO export price fell. Data from the Indonesian Palm Oil Association (GAPKI), reported by Katadata on 4 September 2026, show export volumes rose 64.08% from the previous month, while the export price weakened by 4.32%.

Export volumes rise sharply

Total palm oil product exports reached 3.28 million tonnes in June 2026, up from 2 million tonnes in May. Exports of refined palm oil products rose 66% to 2.36 million tonnes, while CPO exports jumped from 31,000 tonnes to 335,000 tonnes. Export value came to US$3.92 billion, up 57.45% from US$2.49 billion.

India was the largest destination at 328,000 tonnes, followed by China at 256,000 tonnes and Pakistan at 132,000 tonnes.

Export prices weaken

  • Average CPO export price in June: US$1,174 per tonne, down 4.32% from US$1,227 per tonne in May.
  • CPO price on MDEX: US$1,107 per tonne, down from US$1,134 per tonne.
  • January–June average: US$1,132 per tonne, compared with US$1,088 per tonne a year earlier.

Production, consumption and stocks

CPO production in June was 4.82 million tonnes, up 8.59% from May. Domestic consumption reached 2.2 million tonnes, of which 1.13 million tonnes went to biodiesel. End-June stocks stood at 2.84 million tonnes; GAPKI said exports and domestic consumption grew faster than production, drawing stocks down.

Domestic price context

At the state plantation commodity exchange (KPBN) tender on 31 August 2026, CPO at Franco Dumai was priced at IDR 15,888 per kg, according to InfoSAWIT. Five of six delivery points were withdrawn because the highest bids were below the opening price. The September 2026 reference price was set at US$1,007.51 per tonne, with an export duty of US$148 per tonne and an export levy of 12.5%, before it rose 3.44% in October.
