Cetane number
Cetane number measures how readily diesel fuel ignites in an engine; the higher the number, the better the ignition. B50 is available in CN 48 and CN 51 grades.
Oil and Gas Director General Decision 75.K/MG.06/DJM/2026 sets two B50 grades with CN 48 and CN 51. The sulfur limit for CN 48 of 0.2% by mass will tighten to 0.005% (50 ppm) from 1 December 2027, while CN 51 is already limited to 0.005%.
FAME and HVO generally have high cetane numbers. See SNI 7182:2024.
