Diesel HIP (Market Index Price for diesel)
Diesel HIP is the government-set Market Index Price of fossil diesel, compared with biodiesel HIP to calculate the size of the biodiesel incentive.
The incentive paid by BPDP is roughly the gap between biodiesel HIP and diesel HIP multiplied by the volume distributed. When diesel prices rise the gap narrows and funding needs fall; when biodiesel is dearer, funding needs grow.
In 2026 the biodiesel incentive need was first projected at IDR 47 trillion, then revised to about IDR 32 to 32.3 trillion as the price gap narrowed.
