FFB (Fresh Fruit Bunches)
FFB (Fresh Fruit Bunches) are the harvested oil palm fruit clusters that mills process into CPO and palm kernel; their price is set periodically by province.
Farmers' FFB prices in many provinces are set by pricing teams at provincial plantation offices, based on CPO and kernel prices and the age of the palms. Example: in Riau for 7-13 October 2026, independent smallholders' 9-year-old FFB was IDR 3,733.74 per kg, down 3.45%.
FFB must be processed quickly at a mill because it spoils fast. Since CPO is the feedstock for biodiesel, the B50 programme and CPO prices both affect farmers' income.
