Jakarta — Trade Expo Indonesia (TEI) 2026, taking place at ICE BSD City on 14–18 October, will include Indonesia’s palm oil value chain through official product categories covering crude palm oil, CPO derivatives and vegetable oils. The exhibitor directory also lists the Indonesian Biofuel Producers Association (APROBI), the Plantation Fund Management Agency (BPDP), the Indonesian Oleochemical Manufacturers Association (APOLIN), and a company operating a biodiesel plant.

The participation makes Indonesia’s largest export-oriented trade fair relevant to the palm oil and biodiesel industries, although TEI is not a dedicated energy exhibition. The 41st edition carries the theme The Ultimate Hub for Global Sourcing and has a target of USD 17.5 billion in potential transactions.

APROBI and a biodiesel producer appear in the directory

Searching “biofuel” and “biodiesel” in TEI’s official directory brings up APROBI at Hall 3A, Booth 3A-5. Its profile describes the association as representing companies producing renewable biofuels, particularly biodiesel and bioethanol.

The directory also lists PT Jhonlin Agro Raya at Hall 5, Booth 5-3. Its TEI profile says the company operates a 60-tonne-per-hour palm oil mill, a biodiesel plant processing 1,500 tonnes per day, and a 250-tonne-per-day cooking oil plant.

BPDP is listed at Hall 3A, Booth 3A-5 under agriculture, CPO, CPO derivatives and vegetable oil. APOLIN is located at the same booth under chemicals, CPO derivatives and organic chemical products. Together, the entries show the palm value chain represented from feedstocks to oleochemicals and biofuels.

Biodiesel, however, is not presented as a standalone headline zone. TEI’s five official zones cover food, beverages and agriculture; manufactured products; industrial estates; fashion and crafts; and furniture and home decor. Biodiesel participation should therefore be understood as part of manufacturing and downstream palm processing, rather than the exhibition’s single defining theme.

Buyers from 113 countries and curated meetings

The Ministry of Trade said buyers from 113 countries had registered by 29 September 2026. A total of 1,533 Indonesian businesses had also registered as exhibitors by 25 September. The largest groups of overseas buyers came from India, followed by China, Nigeria, Malaysia and Egypt.

TEI provides curated one-on-one meetings between international buyers and Indonesian exporters. Participants are matched according to product interests, sourcing requirements, industry sectors and commercial objectives. By 21 September, the ministry had also conducted 17 business presentations and business-matching preparations involving Indonesian diplomatic missions and overseas trade representatives.

For downstream palm businesses, the format creates an opportunity to introduce CPO, palm-based chemicals and biofuels to potential partners. An exhibitor-directory entry does not, however, prove that a contract or transaction exists. Concrete results can only be assessed from official announcements during and after the exhibition.

Palm oil attracted strong demand at TEI 2025

The ministry recorded USD 22.83 billion in potential transactions at TEI 2025, with 1,619 exhibitors, 8,045 buyers and 34,550 visitors. Palm oil and its derivatives were among the product groups receiving relatively strong demand.

That track record gives palm oil businesses a reason to use TEI again as an export channel. For biodiesel companies, opportunities may extend beyond finished fuel to feedstocks, plant technology, co-products such as glycerine, logistics, certification and investment partnerships—provided those needs emerge in actual participant meetings.

Media Biodiesel analysis: TEI 2026 may broaden the international network of Indonesia’s biofuel industry, but success cannot be measured by participant numbers alone. The evidence to monitor is whether identified buyers, export contracts, memoranda of understanding or investments specifically refer to biodiesel and downstream palm products. A follow-up article will be warranted if official transaction or partnership results are announced.
