Monoglycerides
Monoglycerides are leftover compounds from an incomplete reaction in biodiesel; high levels can crystallise at low temperature and clog filters. The reported B50 limit is 0.47% by mass.
According to the EBTKE Director General, the maximum monoglyceride limit for B50 was tightened to 0.47% by mass from 0.5% by mass. Saturated monoglycerides can form crystals and sediment that clog fuel filters.
The parameter relates to cold-flow properties and is part of the SNI 7182:2024 specification. See biodiesel quality standards.
