Biofuel business entity (BU BBN)
A biofuel business entity (BU BBN) is a company producing biodiesel or bioethanol that the government appoints to supply biofuel volumes under the mandate.
Each year the Energy Ministry names biofuel business entities and their volumes in an allocation decree. For 2026, Decree 439.K/EK.01/MEM.E/2025 appointed 26 BU BBN and 32 fuel business entities for a total of 15,646,372 kL; the allocation for B50 was reported at about 16.7 million kL for 26 producers.
BU BBN produce FAME to SNI standards and sell it to fuel business entities at prices based on HIP.
