Riau Plasma FFB Price Falls 0.35% to IDR 3,783.39 per Kg
Riau's plasma FFB price for 14–20 October 2026 fell 0.35% for nine-year-old palms as a lower kernel price offset stronger CPO.

Pekanbaru — The price of fresh fruit bunches (FFB) for plasma smallholders in Riau for 14–20 October 2026 fell by IDR 13.47 per kilogram, or 0.35%, to IDR 3,783.39 per kilogram for nine-year-old palms. The decline came even as the average reference price for crude palm oil rose, because the kernel price—another component in the formula—moved lower.
The IDR 3,783.39 per kilogram rate is the highest in this week's age-based schedule. FFB from palms aged 10–20 years was set at IDR 3,762.58 per kilogram. The price actually received by growers may differ depending on fruit quality, transport costs, mill policies and transaction conditions.
Lower kernel price weighs on the FFB formula
HaiSawit, citing Riau's Media Center, reported that the CPO selling price increased by IDR 90.88 per kilogram from the previous week. The kernel price, however, fell by IDR 683.05 per kilogram. The combination resulted in a weekly decline of IDR 13.47 per kilogram for nine-year-old palms.
The calculation used an average KPBN CPO price of IDR 14,719.20 per kilogram and a kernel price of IDR 12,323 per kilogram. The K index—the share of proceeds from CPO and kernel sales allocated to growers—was set at 93.93%. Shells were valued at IDR 15.46 per kilogram.
The pricing team used average prices under the mechanism in Agriculture Ministerial Regulation No. 13/2024 when some companies did not record sales. The determination also refers to Directorate General of Estates Decree No. 144/Kpts./PP.320/E/12/2025 on general guidelines for purchasing FFB produced by partner smallholders.

How does this relate to biodiesel?
FFB is the starting point of the palm oil supply chain before the fruit is processed into CPO for food, exports or biodiesel feedstock. FFB prices therefore help show how changes further down the chain are transmitted to smallholders.
This week's decline cannot, however, be attributed directly to Indonesia's B50 policy. The pricing data point to the immediate combination of a higher CPO price, a lower kernel price and the distribution formula represented by the K index. Readers can compare the figures with the FFB price page, CPO prices and the biodiesel market index price (HIP) dataset to follow the broader price chain.
The determination applies specifically to plasma partner smallholders in Riau from 14 to 20 October 2026. Independent smallholders have a separate price determination and cost structure, so their rates should not be treated as the same as plasma prices.
