EUDR (EU Deforestation Regulation)
The EUDR (EU Deforestation Regulation) bars commodities including palm oil from the EU market if linked to deforestation or illegal production; its application has been postponed.
Application for large and medium operators was postponed to 30 December 2026, and for micro and small businesses to 30 June 2027. Palm oil is a covered commodity, with due diligence, plot geolocation and supply-chain traceability requirements.
For Indonesia, the EUDR affects exports of palm oil and derivatives and adds pressure to strengthen traceability and certification such as ISPO.
