Jakarta — A review of provincial fresh fruit bunch (FFB) palm oil price determinations available by 21 October 2026 shows divergent movements. For palms aged 10–20 years, Riau's plasma partner price for 21–27 October fell to IDR 3,725.04 per kg, while its independent smallholder partner price rose to IDR 3,640.55. South Sumatra set its plasma price for 16–31 October at IDR 3,541.39 per kg. These are determinations for different periods, not a single nationwide spot price on the same day.

Provincial determinations at a glance

The comparison uses the 10–20-year age group and the previous entry in each corresponding series in Media Biodiesel's price database. Reporting periods are not synchronised. East Kalimantan, West Kalimantan and Aceh prices were set earlier and have only now been added to the database. Figures and changes below are in Indonesian rupiah per kilogram.

AJNN says the Aceh determination takes effect from 7 October until the fourth week of the month, without specifying an exact end date. Its eastern and western labels refer to the province's price regions, not just districts bearing those names. For West Kalimantan, Suaraindo describes 8–15 October as the payment period, while the provincial Disbunnak's official SIDIKH TBS portal records IDR 3,378.25 for the second October period.

Why the Riau categories move in different directions

Riau Aktual reported the results of the provincial plantation agency's 20 October meeting. Its age-10–20 plasma price fell from IDR 3,762.58 to IDR 3,725.04, while its independent partner price rose from IDR 3,565.06 to IDR 3,640.55. The news reports' headline changes of IDR 37.97 down and IDR 75.48 up concern nine-year-old palms. This table instead compares 10–20-year-old palms, hence the different change amounts. The two partnership arrangements should not be conflated.

InfoSAWIT reported a rise of IDR 12.86 for Jambi's same age bracket. South Sumatra's 19 October price-setting meeting resulted in a plasma price of IDR 3,541.39 for the second half of the month. Its independent partner prices are classified by tenera and dura fruit composition rather than palm age; the table therefore uses the plasma series for like-for-like comparison. West Sumatra's IDR 3,695.36 for 15–21 October is below the database's previous point, although the cited report's headline says “naik” (rose).

CPO benchmarks and limits of comparison

Media Biodiesel's CPO price page records a physical KPBN tender price of IDR 15,158 per kg and an ICDX futures price of IDR 15,585 per kg for 20 October. Both are distinct from the weighted CPO selling price used by individual provincial FFB pricing teams. East Kalimantan's government, for example, reported weighted CPO at IDR 15,218.80 per kg and palm kernel at IDR 12,935.46 for 1–15 October. Differences in timing and methodology make it inappropriate to claim a single market benchmark directly determines every provincial FFB price.

Areas without a newly verified determination are not presented as current-week prices. Central Kalimantan's page still has a 16–30 September point; check the date displayed on the pages for Bengkulu, South Kalimantan and North Sumatra before quoting them. Farmgate transactions outside partnership arrangements may differ from the provincial team determinations.
