Jakarta — Official fresh fruit bunch (FFB) prices for oil palm growers weakened across several Indonesian provinces in the latest determinations available by 14 October 2026. West Sumatra recorded the steepest decline in this update, while South Kalimantan posted the highest price among the nine updated series at IDR 3,767.99 per kg for palms aged 10–20 years.

The update covers Riau plasma and independent smallholders, Jambi, North Sumatra, West Sumatra, South Sumatra, Bengkulu, West Kalimantan and South Kalimantan. Their pricing periods are not uniform: some are weekly, others fortnightly, and several determinations were published after the pricing period had begun. The comparisons below therefore use the previous point stored in each Media Biodiesel series rather than a single nationwide comparison date.

Riau independent growers see a sharper fall

For 14–20 October 2026, the Riau independent smallholder price for 10–20-year-old palms was set at IDR 3,565.06 per kg, down IDR 129.62 or 3.51% from the previous point. The plasma scheme price for the same age group eased by IDR 13.81 or 0.37% to IDR 3,762.58 per kg. Riau’s highest listed price was for nine-year-old palms, but this table consistently uses the 10–20-year reference group across provinces.

Jambi set IDR 3,621.16 per kg for 9–15 October, a 3.65% decline. North Sumatra’s price for 7–13 October stood at IDR 3,632.42 per kg, down 4.45%. No verifiable North Sumatra determination covering a period after 13 October had been found when this update was prepared.

Weaker CPO prices provide market context

Provincial FFB formulas take into account factors including crude palm oil (CPO) and palm kernel prices as well as the K index. On 13 October, the KPBN CPO tender price was IDR 14,775 per kg, while Bursa Malaysia’s third-month contract settled at MYR 4,682 per tonne. Daily market indicators are available on the CPO price page, with all tracked series listed in the price hub.

FFB prices do not move equally between provinces because each determination may use a different sampling window, company sales data, extraction rate, marketing costs and K index. West Sumatra also requires a data note: two media reports associated IDR 3,764.98 with the 10–20-year group, while another publication applied a different age label. Media Biodiesel used the figure supported by more than one source and recorded the caveat in the series metadata.

Provinces without a new data point

Central Kalimantan and East Kalimantan were not updated because no October determination newer than the stored data could be verified. For Aceh, the latest sources found no longer covered the current period as of 14 October. Media Biodiesel does not estimate prices or automatically extend an expired determination.
