Jakarta — The Indonesian Biomass Energy Society (MEBI) has invited colleagues and partners to the opening of its 2026 National Working Meeting on Tuesday, 3 November 2026, at Hall A3 of JIExpo Kemayoran, Jakarta. The theme is “Responding to Increased Biomass Utilisation and Addressing Its Challenges”. According to the invitation and poster supplied to Media Biodiesel, the opening events will precede the working meeting of MEBI's board.
The announced programme includes two book launches, a panel discussion, the opening of MEBI Biomass Business Matching, a declaration by a biomass suppliers forum, and the inauguration of KEBI officials. MEBI is organising the event in collaboration with HEATECH Indonesia, with support from PT Prima Khatulistiwa Sinergi (PKS). These are scheduled activities, not events that have already taken place.
Books, industry discussion and supplier forum
The invitation names the books Biomassa Indonesia and Biomassa untuk Transisi Energi Indonesia. The book launches are part of the opening programme, alongside a panel on greater industrial use of biomass and the obstacles to its deployment. The invitation gives no time for individual sessions, so visitors should request an opening timetable from the organiser before travelling.
The poster also lists a declaration by the Biomass Suppliers Forum and an inauguration of KEBI officials. These are plans rather than completed outcomes. Several speakers and respondents appear on the poster, but some names carry unexplained asterisks. The final attendance list should therefore be confirmed with MEBI.
The discussion could be relevant to energy users, feedstock suppliers and technology providers. Yet the event theme alone does not establish that any specific supply capacity, technology deployment or emissions reduction has been achieved. Discussion conclusions and any forum declaration can be reported as outcomes only after the event and the relevant documents become available.
Business matching alongside the working meeting
MEBI has included the launch of its Biomass Business Matching programme in the 3 November opening events. As Media Biodiesel previously reported, the one-to-one meetings are scheduled for 3–5 November, from 10:00 to 16:00 Western Indonesia Time, at the MEBI Lounge in JIExpo Kemayoran. MEBI says potential partners are matched according to biomass type, location, supply and demand requirements. The meeting location at the MEBI Lounge is distinct from the working meeting's opening venue in Hall A3.
MEBI's earlier LinkedIn announcement gave 27 October as the registration deadline. Since that date has passed, this article does not direct readers to register through the old link; prospective participants should ask the organiser whether access remains available or arrangements have changed. Opening a business forum is not evidence that contracts, transactions or investments have been agreed.
Part of the HEATECH Indonesia exhibition period
HEATECH Indonesia's official website says its exhibition runs from 3 to 5 November at Jakarta International Expo. It incorporates Expo Boiler and Expo Biomass and lists MEBI among its supporting organisations. The exhibition is open from 10:00 to 18:00 Western Indonesia Time on 3 November. Those are HEATECH exhibition hours, not a stated start time for MEBI's opening session in Hall A3; the invitation supplied to Media Biodiesel does not specify that session's start time.
HEATECH describes the exhibition as a trade-only event open to registered professionals. Anyone planning to attend the MEBI opening, the exhibition or the business-matching sessions should distinguish between those three activities and check the access requirements for each with MEBI and HEATECH. Registration for one should not be assumed to cover all three.
For palm oil and biodiesel businesses, the gathering may offer a chance to understand biomass market needs and supply constraints. That is an editorial assessment of the published agenda, not a claim that the programme includes a dedicated palm oil session or that a biodiesel agreement has been reached. Solid biomass used for industrial heat is also different from liquid biodiesel blended into diesel fuel. Media Biodiesel will update this report if the organisers release a detailed timetable or official outcomes from the meeting.
