Jakarta — During the Monday–Friday week of 26–30 October 2026, Agrinas and Pertamina agreed to study the Bayas FAME plant, while four cooperatives in Banyumas launched a used-cooking-oil collection pilot for Cilacap sustainable aviation fuel (SAF). Bursa Malaysia's January palm-oil contract fell from RM4,789 a tonne on Monday to RM4,616 on Thursday; Indonesia's October biodiesel market index price (HIP) remained IDR 15,072 a litre before freight. Friday's closing market figures were not available when this edition was prepared, so the table gives the latest verified observations, not a completed five-day close.

The week in three sentences

The Bayas facility's indicative installed capacity of 600,000 tonnes a year does not yet amount to additional B50 supply. The Banyumas collection pilot and a separate study of palm-mill biomethane still need measured volumes, operational evidence and buyers. Palm-oil prices across different market instruments cannot be treated as interchangeable, and a monthly biodiesel HIP does not reset with daily trading.

Six developments to know

  • Bayas FAME remains a proposal under review. Agrinas said it signed two memoranda and a heads of agreement on 27 October with Pertamina entities. Its 600,000-tonne annual capacity is indicative; technical, financial and legal assessments, including the asset's status, must precede any claim of added supply.
  • Four Banyumas cooperatives began a collection pilot. According to ANTARA, the Ministry of Cooperatives and Pertamina launched the scheme on 29 October with a proposed route to Cilacap refinery. The minister's IDR 5,000–6,000 a litre household purchase range is a proposed scheme, not a uniform proven price, and the new pilot has not reported attributable SAF output.
  • BRIN cited a 3.9 GW palm-waste power potential. Its head Arif Satria included palm oil mill effluent and empty fruit bunches in that estimate. It is not installed generating capacity or electricity already delivered; project-level methodology remains to be published.
  • Pertamina New & Renewable Energy mapped about 27 mills across Sumatra for biomethane opportunities with Singapore LNG. ANTARA and CNBC Indonesia report that feasibility work, transport options and buyer letters of intent remain in progress. Mapped mills must not be mistaken for operating export facilities.
  • FFB decisions varied across provinces. Riau's plasma rate for 10–20-year palms was IDR 3,765.41/kg for 28 October–3 November. InfoSAWIT also lists IDR 3,785.87/kg for nine-year palms, the highest age-group price. Independent-grower schemes and different palm ages cannot be conflated.
  • Malaysia palm futures weakened. Reuters put the January contract at RM4,616/tonne on 29 October. InfoSAWIT recorded Dumai's KPBN price at IDR 15,100/kg on 28 October and IDR 14,963/kg on 29 October. These moves did not automatically revise October's biodiesel HIP.

What to watch next week

HEATECH Indonesia schedules its Jakarta International Expo exhibition for 3–5 November; MEBI's national working meeting opening was announced for 3 November in Hall A3. The organiser lists exhibition hours of 10:00–18:00 on Tuesday and Wednesday and 10:00–16:00 on Thursday, but the MEBI invitation received by the newsroom gave no opening-session time. Watch for an official November HIP announcement and Riau's FFB decision after the current 28 October–3 November pricing period; neither release date nor value should be assumed in advance.
