B40
B40 is a blend of 40% biodiesel and 60% diesel that Indonesia mandated from 1 January 2025 under Energy Ministry Decree 341.K/EK.01/MEM.E/2024, before B50 replaced it.
B40 raised the blend from 35% to 40% on 1 January 2025, with a B35 transition until February 2025. The 2025 allocation was about 15.6 million kL under Energy Ministry Decree 345.K/EK.01/MEM.E/2024.
With Decree 257.K/EK.01/MEM.E/2026, B50 took effect on 1 July 2026. Companies with remaining B40 stock could distribute it until 30 September 2026. B40 distribution in January-June 2026 was about 7.27 million kL (ESDM data as of 7 September 2026).
