Used cooking oil (UCO) (UCO)
Used cooking oil (UCO) is spent frying oil that can serve as feedstock for biodiesel, HVO and SAF.
Pertamina is preparing the use of used cooking oil as feedstock for SAF and HVO in its next refinery developments. Using it eases pressure on virgin palm oil.
Key challenges are collection, quality control and traceability so that it is not mixed with fresh oil.
