Jakarta — Three fresh fruit bunch (FFB) price determinations add to Indonesia’s provincial palm-oil picture this week. Central Kalimantan’s benchmark for 10–20-year palms fell to IDR 3,566.72/kg for 1–15 October 2026; North Sumatra’s rose to IDR 3,740.41/kg for 21–27 October; and West Kalimantan’s official portal lists IDR 3,417.40/kg for the third October period. These are benchmarks for growers in the relevant partnership schemes, not a uniform cash price paid to every grower on the same day.

Three provincial benchmarks move in different directions

This update adds to the earlier weekly FFB round-up; the Riau and South Sumatra determinations cited there have already been recorded. The changes below compare each province’s latest observation with the preceding observation in that same series. The effective periods differ, and a cross-province ranking should not be read as a single-day national transaction price.

Province and benchmarkPeriodIDR/kgChange against previous point
Central Kalimantan, plasma partners, 10–20-year palms1–15 Oct3,566.72Down 175.22 from 3,741.94
North Sumatra, plasma partners, 10–20-year palms21–27 Oct3,740.41Up 70.23 from 3,670.18
West Kalimantan, partner growers, 10–20-year palmsOct period III3,417.40Up 39.15 from 3,378.25

InfoSAWIT reported Central Kalimantan’s provincial price-setting meeting on 20 October, although the price applies to 1–15 October. Its plasma benchmark for 10–20-year palms fell from IDR 3,741.94/kg in the second half of September. The date the committee met should not be confused with the effective dates of the decision. InfoSAWIT also reported IDR 3,266.13/kg for swadaya partnership growers supplying 100% tenera fruit. That is a different category and is not used as the plasma comparison in the table.

For North Sumatra, Sawit Indonesia reported that the committee’s 21 October meeting set the plasma price for 10–20-year palms at IDR 3,740.41/kg for 21–27 October, a rise of IDR 70.23/kg from 14–20 October. In West Kalimantan, the Plantation and Livestock Agency’s SIDIKH TBS portal lists IDR 3,417.40/kg in its third October row, up from IDR 3,378.25 in the second row. The portal labels the third period but does not specify payment dates in the table itself; growers should check the local meeting record for the precise transaction window.

CPO prices provide context, not a one-for-one FFB formula

According to InfoSAWIT’s account of the Central Kalimantan determination, its local average crude palm oil (CPO) price fell to IDR 14,759.69/kg from IDR 15,383.06/kg in the previous period, while the local kernel average dropped to IDR 12,345.85/kg. Sawit Indonesia reported North Sumatra’s local and export CPO average at IDR 15,111.29/kg, local kernel at IDR 13,012.47/kg and the K index at 92.29% for its latest determination. West Kalimantan’s SIDIKH table lists CPO at IDR 14,456.11/kg, kernel at IDR 12,141.59/kg and a K index of 91.86% for October period III.

Separately, Media Biodiesel’s CPO price dashboard lists the KPBN physical tender at IDR 15,115/kg for 21 October 2026. That dated tender benchmark is not automatically the CPO input for every provincial FFB determination. Provincial committees draw on their own data and calculation periods, so a single day’s KPBN movement cannot by itself explain each local FFB change.

Check the period and palm age before using a benchmark

Growers should match the age of their palms, partnership category and effective period in the provincial determination against the mill’s purchasing terms. Fruit from non-partner farms, or fruit with different quality and transport costs, may fetch a different price. Central Kalimantan was the most overdue series in this group: its previous stored point covered 16–30 September before the 1–15 October decision was found.

The price data hub carries the provincial series and their histories. For South Kalimantan, Bengkulu and the Aceh regional series, readers should check the effective period on each page. A missing newer verified determination must not be replaced with an estimate or a single mill’s buying price. Future points should be recorded only when the source clearly identifies the value, grower category and period.
